The Italian sculptor Tatiana Trouvé examines the parameters of space and time in her work. Her installations often appear to be minimalistic and still succeed in being space-consuming. Out of layers of everyday materials such as stones, soil, glass or furniture, Trouvé constructs impressive works. Her interventions into architecture cause the spatial structure to teeter and seem to position a variety of perspectives alongside one another, thus altering the connection between inside and outside, imagination and reality. With her sculptures and site-specific installations, Trouvé creates constructions of reality, in which according to the artist, “thoughts turn into corporeal creatures.” Trouvé also tracks this theme down in large scale drawings that only at first glance seem to be like clear spatial situations.

Tatiana Trouvé was born in Cosenza, Italy in 1968. She lives and works in Paris.
